Naked Tri-jax-lete
I’M BACK! and I’m no longer naked. Been so busy racing I haven’t had time to write anything down.   ^That’s what My half marathon PR face looks like?!?!
I was noticed by 1st Place Sports, one of the best running stores in the nation. Host of a series of world class races like the 26.2 with Donna, and the Gate River Run 15k National Championship.
After setting a new PR I unknowingly talked to one of the co- owners, the wonderful Mrs. Jane Aldred. Now I proudly wear their team racing singlet. since my last blog entry I’ve been racing or doing something just about every weekend. I started having knee/top quad pain after  placing 1st in age rank for the Great Clermont sprint triathlon and ignored it. after the Tour de Pain Extreme (10K, 5K, half marathon*^see pic above, all in 24 hours) the pain became sharp, sporadic, sometimes achy, and overall debilitating, so I took an agonizing 4 week hiatus. perfect time to work on my swim! I planned on running the Jetty 2 Jetty 35 mile ultra, but its not gonna happen now. I’m just starting to really run again. I missed it sooo much.

Wow. Practice super sprint tri with the UNF Triathletes, a 40 minute pool session, and a 7 mile run to finish it all off. What a beautiful day!

Today: 43 miles in 3:21:42 on the bladwin trail (seen above), 30 miles on the bike, 13 running. wanted to do more on the bike but my left knee started hurting pretty bad after mile 17. It went away when I started running. Should I be concerned?
Yesterday: ran 17:39 in the Matanzas 5k, “The fastest 5k in Florida”. I took 5th in age group and was 27th to finish overall. Tough competition, a GREAT race.
Tomorrow: 7:00 am, run through the UNF trails for an hour or so, 8am swim for a hour or so. Relax, then go to class.

WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?

Running+ music. No question

At every race I make it a point to  shout a quick thanks to the volunteers, especially at the water stations. Many Runners forget how important the volunteers are and take them for granted, giving no more importance to them than any other spectator. In truth, they are an essential element to a great race. Today I ran a 37:33 10k, placed 1st in age group, and took 9th overall. Thank you.

This guy is absolutely right in so many ways.  You can never really see the fruit of your training - the blood, sweat and tears - until race day.  You train and train and train, but you can never be sure how it is all gonna come together until you cross the finish line.  Love it.

this inspired me to do the race tomorrow. Always in the pursuit of a better self.

To run, or not to run. Tomorrow is the River Resolution 10K. Running it would earn me some points in the grand prix and further securing my first place lead, but its gonna be really cold. I’m afraid my time will reflect it. It would be an easy race to place in, but if its so easy is it really worth my time? and $25? I don’t know :-/

If only I could run this.

If only I could run this.

Maybe this would get me to swim better. I hate swimming. Its not natural. I am a runner.
7 miles this morning, followed by a 30 minute swim, then a 2.5 mile run before dinner.
